BERKUTCHI (eagle hunters): the ancient tradition of hunting with trained golden eagles — practiced for 3,000+ years in Central Asia. UNESCO-listed in 2016 as Intangible Cultural Heritage. The eagles (trained from 2-year-old chicks) can take prey as large as foxes + rabbits. Demonstrations: eagles fly to the hunter’s gloved arm from 500m away.
