 – Short Description: Barva Volcano (2,906m) — extinct. The ONLY sector of PN Braulio Carrillo where tent camping is permitted (all other areas prohibited). Pristine cloud forest. Crater lake at summit (1.5hr from trailhead). Excellent quetzal habitat. Very different microclimate to Pacific side. Rarely visited — you’ll likely have the trails to yourself. Sacramento entrance: 4WD recommended in wet season.
