– Short Description: OSH (963m) = Kyrgyzstan’s SECOND CITY and the cultural capital of the south — a 3,000-year-old city on the ancient Silk Road. SULAIMAN-TOO (Solomon’s Throne): the sacred mountain in the center of the city — the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kyrgyzstan. Muslim pilgrims have climbed this limestone outcrop for over 1,000 years. Sulaiman himself (the Islamic prophet-king Solomon) is said to have prayed on its summit. The CITY MUSEUM inside the mountain is extraordinary. OSH BAZAAR: the largest and most vivid market in Central Asia — livestock, spices, felt carpets, Soviet military surplus, fresh produce all in one chaotic brilliant space.
