– Short Description: Alternative refugio in the glacial Valle de las Morenas, a few km north of the Chirripó summit. Set in spectacular páramo landscape with glacial lakes (evidence of Pleistocene glaciation ~30,000 years ago — unique in Central America). Ideal for exploring the Talamanca high country beyond the summit. Rarely used by regular tourists — mainly researchers and serious trekkers doing extended routes.
