– Short Description: TASH-RABAT CARAVANSERAI (3,500m) = one of the most extraordinary buildings in Central Asia — a MEDIEVAL STONE CARAVANSERAI built in the 15th century (possibly earlier) as a resting place for merchants on the Silk Road. The structure is almost perfectly preserved: 31 rooms, a central hall, vaulted ceilings, and carved stone decorations — all carved from grey stone that blends into the mountain. It sits in a remote valley 3,500m above sea level, completely alone. The YURT CAMP beside the caravanserai is one of the most atmospheric in all of Kyrgyzstan — sleeping under the stars 5 minutes from a 600-year-old Silk Road monument. OPTIONAL: HORSE TREK over the Torugart area toward Chatyr-Kul.
